Position Overview
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) seeks to fill three Senior Engineer (Highway Engineer) positions to support major road upgrading projects in the Dodoma Region.
Key Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least seven (7) years of relevant experience and involvement in at least three (3) similar projects as a Highway Engineer.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise construction work in accordance with contract provisions.
- Conduct road surveys and manage construction of pavement structures.
- Measure quantities and manage site operations to adhere to best construction practices.
- Ensure final product meets or exceeds specifications, cost-effectively and in compliance with governing specifications.
- Conduct design reviews and assist in approving shop drawings.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project updates and reports.
- Update and maintain the master project schedule.
- Coordinate supervision teams to avoid unnecessary claims and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Assist the Resident Project Manager in recording, examining, and evaluating claims submitted by the Contractor.
Terms of Service
- Contract Duration: Specified contract for 1 year or more upon completion of the project.
- Salary: As per TANROADS policy.
