Position Summary. Professionalized Services Officer (PSO)
Water Mission Hiring of Professionalized Services Officer in Dodoma, Tanzania The PSO will be responsible for implementing strategies to support water project management, focusing on improving WASH service provision and collaborating with local and international stakeholders to strengthen water utility management. This position is based in Dodoma but requires regular travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess WASH service provision and identify areas for improvement, especially in the Regional Water Corporation (RWC).
- Implement strategies to maximize uptime and meet Carbon Credit reporting standards.
- Facilitate communication between Water Mission and local stakeholders to address challenges and enhance service delivery.
- Support asset management system implementation and tailor it to local requirements.
- Develop innovative service models for the Tanzania program.
- Participate in capacity-building and training initiatives for water utility management.
- Monitor KPIs to evaluate project impact and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and document lessons learned for stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with key entities like the Government of Tanzania, Ministry of Water, RUWASA, and other NGOs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, Community Development, Social Work, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related fields.
- At least four years of experience in the WASH sector with a record of effective project support in challenging environments.
- Strong analytical skills, fluent in English and Swahili, with excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and similar tools, and a valid driver’s license.
