Job Title: Volunteer Finance & Administrative Assistant, Nafasi za Kazi MYDIA-TZ

Location: Kasulu, Kigoma – Tanzania
Type: Part-time Volunteer (25 hours per week)

Salary: Non-salaried volunteer with a monthly communications allowance

Who Are We?
Mydia-tz is a non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on empowering young people in Tanzania through education, livelihoods, and health initiatives. Our mission is to enhance youth development and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily accounting transactions and maintain financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures.
  • Support budget planning, preparation, and execution.
  • Prepare payment requests and manage procurement processes.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of project and office assets.
  • Draft project progress reports and assist with external evaluations.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets and procurement processes.
  • At least two years of volunteer experience in a similar role, preferably with NGOs.
  • Strong writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented, flexible, and eager to learn.

Office Offer:
This role is a volunteer position based in the office, offering only a monthly communication allowance.

Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates with financial and administration skills who are residents of Kasulu town. We encourage qualified young women and individuals with disabilities to apply.
