Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Tour Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a deep passion for travel, expert knowledge of key destinations (Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda), and proven experience in crafting personalized travel itineraries. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of travel planning, from flights to accommodation, ensuring our clients enjoy stress-free travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to determine their travel preferences and requirements.
- Design and create customized travel itineraries.
- Book flights, accommodations, tours, and other services.
- Provide detailed travel information and expert advice.
- Manage travel-related issues and emergencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel destinations and industry trends.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best rates and services.
- Ensure all travel arrangements align with company policies and regulations.
- Distribute travel documents and follow up with clients post-travel for feedback.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance service offerings.
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities.
- Stay informed about travel advisories and safety updates.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the client’s travel journey.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tour Consultant (minimum of five years).
- In-depth knowledge of travel destinations in East Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in travel booking software and tools.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred).
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities.
- A customer-focused mindset and dedication to providing exceptional service.
Requirements:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of travel regulations and policies.
- Preference will be given to women with relevant experience.
- Experience in handling travel emergencies and providing effective solutions.
