TCU Second Round University Admissions 2024/2025 Now Open

TCU Second Round University Admissions 2024/2025 Now Open, Opening of the Second Phase of Undergraduate Admissions for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) has announced the commencement of the second phase of undergraduate admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year. This round, which began on September 3, 2024, will continue until September 21, 2024, providing another opportunity for students who either missed the first round or did not secure a place to apply for admission to their preferred universities.

Summary of the First Round of Admissions

The first round of admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year has been successfully completed. In this phase, 124,286 applicants submitted their applications to 86 accredited institutions offering undergraduate programs. This year, the number of available programs increased to 856, compared to 809 programs offered last year. This expansion increased 12,697 available slots, representing a 6.8% growth in admissions capacity.

Out of the total applicants, 98,890 students, equivalent to 79.6%, were successfully admitted to the universities they applied to. The remaining applicants are now encouraged to participate in the second round, where they will have another chance to secure a spot in their desired programs.

Details on the Second Round of Admissions

The second round is now open for those who did not participate in the first round or who were not admitted. It is an important time for students to review their options and ensure they apply to universities that still have available slots.

Important Guidelines for Applicants:

  1. Confirmation for Multiple Admissions:
    • Students who have been admitted to more than one university in the first round are required to confirm their choice by September 21, 2024. This confirmation must be done using a special code sent to their registered phone numbers or emails. If an applicant does not receive the code in time, they should log into the admission systems of the universities where they were admitted and request a new code.
    • The confirmation process should be completed using the account created during the initial application process. A list of students admitted to more than one university is available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
  2. Applying for the Second Round:
    • TCU has opened the second round of applications for students who missed the first round or were not admitted. This is an ideal opportunity to apply to universities and programs that still have available slots.
    • Universities have been directed to publish the programs that still have spaces available. Applicants are encouraged to follow the procedures outlined on the TCU website and apply accordingly.
  3. Support and Guidance for Students:
    • All queries related to admissions, or issues with confirming a place at a university, should be directed to the respective institutions. Universities have been instructed to address any challenges students face during the confirmation process promptly, according to the established guidelines.

Final Thoughts

The second phase of undergraduate admissions is a critical opportunity for students who did not secure a place during the first round. If you are one of these students, take advantage of this phase by reviewing available programs and ensuring your application is submitted within the given timeframe. This step is essential to beginning your academic journey and laying the groundwork for a successful future.
