Egerton University (EU) is the oldest institution of higher learning in Kenya, established in 1939 as a Farm School by Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton. Initially focused on agricultural education, it has evolved significantly over the decades. In 1950, it was upgraded to an Agricultural College, and by 1987, it was chartered as a public university through an Act of Parliament.
