SFUCHAS Application Process – St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS)

St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS) is a constituent college of St. Augustine University of Tanzania. The college was established in 2010 by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) to contribute to the training of more doctors and other health professionals in Tanzania. Description:
Direct entrants:

  • Minimum of three Principal “D” grades or HIGHER in CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY and PHYSICS, at (“A) level. Minimum of 5.0 points or Higher
  • Candidates with an E in ONE of the above subjects (Chemistry, Physics or Biology) provided that the other two subjects are NOT below D at “A” Level. Minimum points of 5.0 or Higher.
  • Holder of B.Sc. Degree with a lower second from recognized Institutions, majoring in BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, or ZOOLOGY.

Equivalent Qualification:

  • Holder of a Diploma or advanced diploma in Clinical Medicine with TWO PRINCIPAL passes at any level in CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, or PHYSICS at “A” level.

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences

Description:
Direct entrants:

  • Principal passes at a “C” grade or higher in Chemistry or Biology or Physics/Mathematics provided that the other two subjects are not below “D”. Preference will be given to applicants with “C” grade or above in Chemistry or Biology in that order.

Equivalent Qualification:

  • Holder of an appropriate Diploma/Advanced Diploma with three principal passes at any grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at A-Level.
  • Appropriate Diploma/Advanced Diploma with at least three credit passes at any grade in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and English at O-Level and has passed Diploma/Advanced Diploma with an average of “B” grade or above. Preference will be given to students who have attempted A-Level.

ORDINARY DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES:

Description:

A 3 (Three) Years Programme

Direct Entry Requirement:

  • A holder of the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with five (5) passes in non-religious subjects including C passes in Chemistry and Biology; and D passes in Mathematics, Physics/Engineering Sciences, and English

Equivalent Entry Requirement:

  • A one-year program for holders of NTA Level 5 Certificate in the same discipline.

Local Fee:

  • TSHS. 1,200,000/= per year.

ORDINARY DIPLOMA IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES:

Description:

A 3 (Three) years Programme

Direct entry Requirements:

  • A holder of the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including “C” passes in Chemistry and Biology; and “D” pass in Physics/Engineering Sciences.

Equivalent Entry Requirements:

  • A one-year program for holders of NTA Level 5 Certificate in the same discipline.

Local Fee:

  • TSHS. 1,200,000/= per year.

TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES:

Description:

A 2 (two) Years Programme.

Direct Entry Requirements:

  • A holder of the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with five (5) passes in non-religious subjects including D passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Engineering Sciences, Mathematics and English.

Equivalent Entry Requirements:

  • Form IV leavers who have attended one year
    course in the medical sciences but subject to
    passing an Entrance Examination.

Local Fee:

TSHS. 1,000,000/= per year.

TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES:

Description:

A 2 (Two) Year Programme

Direct Entry Requirements:

  • A holder of the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including D passes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Engineering Sciences.

Equivalent Entry Requirements:

  • Form IV leavers who have attended a one-year course in the medical sciences but are subject to passing an Entrance Examination.

Local Fee:
