Job Description:
IntraHealth International is seeking a Senior Technical Manager for the Digitalizing Community Health Worker (CHW) Payments Program. This role will oversee the Bill and Melinda Gates-funded initiative aimed at supporting the Government of Tanzania in developing a national digital payment system for CHW stipends. The Senior Technical Manager will manage stakeholder engagement, system design, and coordinate training efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage technical activities in coordination with the Tanzania Country Representative and government leaders.
- Organize and facilitate workshops with government leaders to determine governance processes and system requirements.
- Co-design program monitoring plans, digital literacy content, and performance management tools.
- Develop training materials for the national digital payment system and train master trainers.
- Facilitate regional trainings and support district master trainers in implementation.
- Collaborate with software designers to ensure timely updates for accurate CHW payments.
- Oversee quality assurance initiatives and troubleshoot implementation gaps.
- Align scale-up activities with government expansion strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, computer science, business management, or a related field with eight years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with six years of experience.
- Experience supervising employees and working with the Government of Tanzania (GOT), particularly the Ministry of Health (MOH).
- At least three years of experience in digital health and payment systems in Tanzania or East Africa.
- Proven ability to develop training materials and high-quality technical reports.
- Must be eligible to work in Tanzania without employer sponsorship.
- Position involves local travel (estimated at 35%).
