Job Purpose

As a Sales Representative, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager. Your role is to drive growth in volume sold, market share, brand visibility, and competitiveness within a specified area and segment, focusing on retail and, in specific cases, wholesale sales.

Key Responsibilities

Retail

  • Sales Drivers: Implement VAPPS (Visibility, Availability, Price, Promotion, Space) sales drivers to increase retail sales.
  • Sales Targets: Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets through effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Territory Management: Manage the assigned territory with a pre-agreed journey plan, ensuring retail standards are met.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop relationships to secure ‘supplier of choice’ status and handle customer and quality issues to TDL standards.
  • Reporting: Maintain and report on outlet databases, journey plans, call activities, asset management, and competitor activities.

3rd Party Wholesale

  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with 3rd party wholesalers, including target setting, order placement, and credit management.
  • Distributor Support: Assist with distributor activities without taking credits or selling on credits.

Personal

  • Brand Ambassador: Represent TDL to consumers.
  • Documentation: Prepare reports, proposals, and other documentation for executive-level presentations.
  • Development: Engage in monthly one-on-one meetings with the Sales Manager for personal development.

Key Result Areas

  • Sales volume by brand and pack type
  • Market share
  • Product availability by brand and pack type
  • Execution of Journey Plan to Standard

Qualification & Experience

  • Education: B Comm, IMM, or similar Sales and Marketing qualification
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years of management experience
  • Skills: Computer literate, excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, team participation, and good leadership skills.
