Overview: Are you passionate about procurement and supply chain management? PSI Tanzania is seeking a dynamic Procurement Assistant (Intern) to support our procurement operations in Dar es Salaam. Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring efficient procurement of health commodities and services for our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in procuring health commodities, packaging, promotional materials, consumables, and services.
- Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Verify specifications to ensure correct goods or services are ordered.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations, compile bid analysis, and negotiate for the best value.
- Prepare and confirm purchase orders through the QBE system.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and update user departments on order status.
- Manage vendor relations and address vendor performance issues.
- Track and expedite purchase orders for timely delivery.
- Provide procurement data for management reports and budgeting.
- Maintain well-organized procurement records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
- Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of working experience in the supply chain field, preferably in an NGO or the Social/Health sector.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
