About the Company:
The Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA) is a multilateral agency formed by the Governments of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, and Uganda. The Central Corridor is an integrated multimodal logistics network that connects member states to the sea via the port of Dar es Salaam. CCTTFA collaborates with member states’ governments and development partners to enhance the efficiency of the transit corridor for seamless trade facilitation.
Job Description:
The Accountant will ensure that the Central Corridor TTFA implements and complies with accounting systems and procedures according to the Accounting and Financial Manual and CCTTFA Policies. This role is crucial for improving corridor performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and update project budgets following CCTTFA regulations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration and Heads of Departments for accurate budget allocation and utilization.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Director of Finance and Administration.
- Maintain compliance with reporting requirements and standards.
- Process payments and ensure all relevant documents support transactions.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and follow up on any issues.
- Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions.
- Ensure adherence to financial and procurement guidelines.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting from a recognized university.
- At least 5 years of extensive experience in financial accounting and banking.
- Experience in a regional or international organization is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting software (e.g., ODOO, SAGE).
- Familiarity with donor funding procedures.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
