Matokeo ya Mtihani wa Pharmacy Council uliofanyika 16th – 18th July 2024, Results Announced for Pre-Registration and Professional Examinations Conducted from 16th – 18th July 2024
The Pharmacy Council of the United Republic of Tanzania has officially released the results for the Pre-Registration and Professional Examinations held from the 16th to 18th of July, 2024. The announcement, made on August 23rd, 2024, marks an important milestone for all candidates who participated in these critical exams.
Candidates are advised that they can access their results via their accounts on the Pharmacy Council Management Information System (PCMIS). This system has been designed to provide a secure and efficient way for candidates to view their examination outcomes and manage subsequent steps in their professional journey.
Next Steps for Successful Candidates
Candidates who have successfully passed the examinations are now required to proceed with the online application for registration, enrolment, or enlistment through their PCMIS accounts. This step is crucial in transitioning from a student or trainee to a fully registered professional within the Tanzanian pharmaceutical sector.
Additionally, all intern pharmacists must ensure that they return their Internship Logbooks to the Pharmacy Council offices as part of the completion process. This logbook serves as a critical record of the hands-on experience gained during their internship period.
To further support newly registered pharmacists, the Pharmacy Council has scheduled an induction training session on September 12th, 2024. This training will provide essential guidance and preparation for newly registered professionals as they embark on their careers in the pharmacy field.
Guidelines for Candidates with Supplementary Exams
For those who did not fully pass their exams, the Council has outlined clear guidelines. Candidates with one or two supplementary exams must pass these within two years of their first attempt. Those who wish to re-sit their exams can apply for the next examination, scheduled to take place from October 23rd to 25th, 2024. The application window for these exams will be open from September 1st to 30th, 2024, and can be accessed through the PCMIS.
Candidates who failed all three exams are required to wait six months before applying to re-sit. It’s important to note that all re-sitters must use the same PCMIS account they initially registered with; creating a new account will result in the application being disqualified.
Important Application Details
The Council has also provided important details regarding the application process. Candidates must upload certified copies of various documents depending on their status—whether they are intern pharmacists or pharmaceutical technicians, assistants, and dispensers. Failure to provide the necessary documents will result in the application being rejected.
The examination fee for new applicants is set at TZS 160,000, while those re-sitting exams will pay TZS 50,000 per examination. The system will automatically generate a control number for payment during the application process.
Candidates wishing to postpone their exams after applying must submit a written request to the Registrar at least two weeks before the scheduled exam date.
Final Remarks
The Pharmacy Council emphasizes the importance of adhering to all the guidelines and deadlines provided. This structured approach ensures that all candidates can effectively navigate the registration and examination process, setting them on the path to becoming successful pharmacy professionals in Tanzania.
