The Inspector General of the Tanzania Police Force has issued an official announcement for all young recruits selected to join the Tanzania Police Force. They are required to report to Moshi Police School for training. The selection interviews were conducted in different regions across the country, and specific reporting dates, locations, and required items have been provided.
Reporting Dates and Locations
Recruits must report to Moshi Police School between September 30, 2024, and October 2, 2024. However, those who were interviewed at the Police Academy in Dar es Salaam (DPA) and under the units managed by Police Headquarters are required to report to the Police Barracks on Kilwa Road near the Police General Hospital in Dar es Salaam on September 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM for a coordinated journey to Moshi.
For recruits interviewed in mainland Tanzania regions, they must report to their respective Regional Police Commanders on September 29, 2024, at 8:00 AM to receive further instructions on their travel to Moshi. Recruits from Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba) are expected to report to the Zanzibar Police Headquarters in Ziwani on September 29, 2024, for their travel arrangements.
Required Items for Reporting
All selected recruits must report to Moshi Police School with the following items:
- A blue tracksuit with white stripes, a plain white t-shirt, sneakers, black socks, and two blue sports shorts.
- A blue metal trunk, a round white mosquito net, two pairs of light blue bed sheets, a gray blanket (no patterns or duvets), and a charcoal iron.
- Cleaning tools, including a rake, a hoe with a handle, a machete, two small buckets, and a grass broom.
- A National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card or TSh. 50,400 cash for those without health insurance.
- Original academic certificates, birth certificate, NIDA card or national ID number, NIDA cards or ID numbers of parents or close relatives (such as uncles, aunts, grandparents), six passport-size photos with a blue background, and five photocopies of each required document.
- Personal sustenance money.
Rules for Reporting
Mobile phones are strictly prohibited at the school, and any recruit found with a phone will be considered to have violated the rules and will be immediately expelled from training. The school will provide specific instructions on how to communicate while in training.
Any recruit who reports to Moshi Police School after October 2, 2024, will not be accepted and will be considered to have withdrawn from training.
