Position Overview
Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) is seeking a qualified Internal Auditor to evaluate and ensure the accuracy, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance of the University’s internal controls and financial records. This role involves identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Internal Control Systems: Participate in designing internal control systems in line with SUMAIT policies.
- Evaluation: Review and evaluate internal controls to ensure accounting and operational systems provide adequate and accurate information and protection against loss.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulations throughout the University.
- Financial Policies: Ensure financial policies and procedures comply with approved standards and regulations, and that authority limits are adhered to.
- Verification: Verify income from source to bank and ensure expenditure is properly incurred according to approved policy and charged to the relevant codes.
- Recommendations: Make recommendations to the Vice Chancellor on necessary checks and changes in accounting systems and controls.
- Liaison: Build effective liaison with external auditors and facilitate external audits.
- Management Responses: Consolidate management responses to audit queries and ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional Qualifications: CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
- Experience: At least five (5) years of working experience in a similar position at a reputable organization.
