Job Description:
HJFMRI is currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support its Tanzania program in Mbeya. This role involves assisting in various HR functions such as planning, recruitment, talent management, performance evaluation, compliance, training, and employee relations. The Human Resources Assistant will ensure that HR objectives are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization’s mission in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily HR operations, including recruitment, talent management, and performance management.
- Support the development and implementation of staff training and capacity-building programs.
- Coordinate new hire processes, including application management and interview scheduling.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure timely processing of medical insurance and other employee benefits.
- Coordinate HR projects, including meetings, staff training, and recognition events.
- Provide clerical support, including filing, responding to HR inquiries, and travel arrangements.
- Assist with HR documentation, ensuring personal files are complete and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure staff have the necessary tools and workspace.
- Perform other HR tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant professional experience in HR management.
- Knowledge of Tanzania labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong judgment, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and HR systems.
- Experience with PEPFAR (DoD, USAID, or CDC) and working in a cross-cultural setting preferred.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Tanzania’s Employment and Labor Relations Act.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with employee relations and maintaining confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage HR documentation.
