Contract Duration: 2 years fixed term (with possibility of extension)

Remuneration: Salary varies by location

Organization Overview
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization dedicated to rebuilding tropical fisheries in partnership with coastal communities. Our global presence spans twelve countries, where we collaborate with local fishers and organizations to restore ocean life and promote sustainable fisheries management.
Role Summary
The Global Head – Food Security will lead the Food Security function within Blue Ventures’ Technical Knowledge team. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of tools, training, and support initiatives aimed at enhancing fish production, availability, and affordability, and promoting nutrition and financial returns for fishers.

Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development: Create accessible tools and technologies for data collection, decision-making, and community activities.
- Training Resources: Develop manuals, guides, videos, and online materials for self-learning and capacity building.
- Knowledge Development: Facilitate structured learning experiences, workshops, webinars, and technical case studies.
- Skill Development: Organize hands-on training and peer learning programs to enhance technical expertise.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: Extensive practical experience working with coastal communities in Africa, Asia, or Central America, and partnering with various stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in food security, nutrition programs, and fisheries management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and work cross-functionally in a diverse, dynamic environment.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information and engage with a wide range of audiences.
Skills and Competencies
- Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct data-driven assessments and interventions to improve food security and nutrition.
- Practical Experience: Experience in enhancing nutritional and financial returns for fishers in low-resource settings.
- Advocacy: Capability to follow and inform best practices and policy improvements in the fisheries sector.
