New JWTZ Job Opportunities 2024: How to Join the Tanzania People’s Defence Force

The Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) is excited to announce new recruitment opportunities for the year 2024. This is a significant chance for young Tanzanians who have completed their Form Four or Form Six education to become part of the national military force. Additionally, the recruitment includes youth currently undergoing National Service under ‘Operation General Venance Mabeyo’ and those who have completed their National Service contracts, whether by law or voluntarily.

Job Overview

JWTZ is looking for dedicated and qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill various military positions. The recruitment drive for 2024 aims to strengthen the Tanzania People’s Defence Force by bringing in fresh talent from across the country. This initiative is open to both current National Service members and those who have previously completed their service.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for recruitment into JWTZ, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Tanzanian Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of Tanzania.
  2. Age: Applicants should be under 25 years old.
  3. Health and Mental Fitness: Applicants must be in good health and possess a sound mind.
  4. Conduct and Discipline: Applicants must have good conduct and discipline, with no criminal record.
  5. Educational Qualifications: Applicants must provide valid school certificates.
  6. No Previous Service in Other Security Forces: Applicants must not have previously served in the Police Force, Prisons, Training Colleges, or Special Anti-Smuggling Units.
  7. Completion of National Service: Applicants should have completed two years of voluntary National Service or National Service as per the law, and must possess a relevant completion certificate.

Application Procedure

The application process is divided into two categories:

1. For Youth Currently in National Service Camps:

  • Applications will be coordinated by the Military Headquarters.

2. For Youth Outside the National Service Camps:

  • Prepare a handwritten application and submit it to the Military Headquarters in Dodoma between August 1, 2024, and August 14, 2024. The application should include:
    • A copy of the National ID card or NIDA number.
    • A copy of the birth certificate.
    • Copies of school certificates.
    • A copy of the National Service certificate.
    • The applicant’s mobile phone number.
