The position is for an accountant with a client in the logistics transportation sector, focusing on financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Voucher Creation: Prepare vouchers for payments (cash and bank) before transactions are executed.
- Subcontractor Payments: Process finals and dues for subcontractors based on scheduled dates.
- Cost Management: Extract and maintain daily costs associated with operations, particularly for DR-Congo.
- Communication: Send group messages for approvals and the creation of Local Purchase Orders (LPOs).
- Expense Verification: Review and verify any abnormal costs or overhead expenses incurred by the company.
- Receipt Management: Maintain documentation for fuel stations, ensuring timely delivery of receipts to clients.
- Statutory Compliance: File PAYE, SDL, WCF, NSSF, and VAT as required before monthly deadlines to avoid penalties.
- Document Filing: Organize and file all documents related to purchases, sales, and statutory payments.
- Sales Reporting: Prepare official sales reports for both Kongowe and EFD machine sales, including monthly bank inflows and outflows.
- Purchasing Records: Accurately record all purchases made (e.g., insurance, fuel, tires, etc.) and ensure vouchers are posted and printed before payments are made.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with accounting software (e.g., Tally).
- Knowledge of VAT and other statutory requirements is advantageous.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
