Position Title: GIS, Management Information System, and M&E Expert
Location: Dodoma, Dodoma Region, Tanzania (Hybrid)

Company Overview

NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for a new EU project focused on disaster risk management and climate resilience, particularly in Ethiopia.

Role Overview

The key expert will contribute to enhancing drought resilience and reducing vulnerability to climate shocks through effective disaster risk management (DRM) strategies.

Duration

  • Start Date: April 2025
  • Contract Period: 42 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing to support DRM initiatives.
  • Develop and manage databases related to DRM projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate disaster risk management projects, focusing on natural resource management and rural development.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in GIS, remote sensing, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of professional experience in GIS, remote sensing, database management, and M&E of DRM projects.
    • 2 years of advisory experience to government bodies, including capacity building.
  • Specific Experience:
    • Knowledge in addressing DRM, drought management, food security, and rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Experience in capacity building on data collection and GIS application.
  • Languages: Excellent command of English; knowledge of Amharic or other Ethiopian languages is a plus.
