Role Purpose

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting activities for FINCA Tanzania. This role includes leading financial performance, managing finance staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. As part of the Management Team, the CFO will contribute to strategic decisions that support FINCA’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership:
    • Execute enterprise and finance strategies to ensure financial excellence and resilience.
    • Drive financial performance by providing business insights alongside the Management Board.
    • Lead business intelligence and financial analytics to identify risks and improve efficiencies.
    • Ensure timely financial reporting and compliance with local accounting standards and central bank requirements.
  • Financial Management:
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage financial transactions with creditors and donors.
    • Lead the planning and budgeting process for FINCA Tanzania.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely issuance of audited financial statements.
    • Manage relationships with lenders and ensure compliance with financial covenants.
  • People & Leadership:
    • Supervise finance staff and evaluate their performance.
    • Assess training needs and develop capacity-building plans for the Finance Department.
    • Prepare staff for management positions and foster a culture of high performance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in finance management, particularly in a banking or microfinance context.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with local financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
