Job Overview:

Aga Khan University (AKU) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The role involves developing and maintaining an effective M&E system to track resources and outcomes, coordinating evaluations of Community Engagement programs at AKU-COC, and supporting program implementation within the COC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and revise an M&E system to ensure effective adoption.
  • Provide relevant and timely M&E information to AKU management and operations team.
  • Track and report challenges encountered by field teams to management.
  • Collect data on community and COC-based activities.
  • Attend and document meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
  • Compile and submit high-quality monthly, quarterly, annual, and other reports.
  • Document qualitative and quantitative impacts of the program.
  • Store and maintain data collected for future use in reviews and evaluations.
  • Identify divergences from expected results and achievements.
  • Document success stories and lessons learned.
  • Support the implementation of programs and regular training at COC.

Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development or a related field with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation within community development and life transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively collect, analyze, interpret, and use data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, fluent in both English and Swahili.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a results-oriented personality.
  • Commitment to engaging with communities and supporting all groups involved in community work.
