Job Description:
The DBA and Backup Specialist will manage and support the bank’s critical databases, including the Core Banking System, Digital channels, and Clearing systems. The role involves configuring and maintaining database replication, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support critical databases for various bank systems.
- Configure and maintain database replication to ensure real-time data synchronization.
- Install, configure, and design new database instances to meet business needs.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply patches and upgrades.
- Configure, monitor, administer, and maintain backup solutions.
- Troubleshoot backup issues related to databases, servers, Virtual Machines, and File Systems.
- Perform data restoration and recovery tests and maintain documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements regarding data backups.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Routine production database support, including monitoring table space and memory utilization.
- Resolve database-related issues and collaborate with Development staff.
- Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup environment.
- Configure backup solutions on requested servers and Virtual Machines.
- Conduct database-related native backups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in database management or backup solutions is a plus.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in database management and backup solutions.
- Strong knowledge of database replication, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
