Job Purpose
The Senior Officer – Cyber Security is responsible for protecting the bank’s systems, networks, and sensitive data from cyber threats. This role encompasses designing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, architectures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security best practices. The position also involves proactive risk assessment, incident response, and promoting cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cybersecurity Strategy & Policy
- Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies aligned with corporate standards.
- Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity risks and recommend solutions to mitigate them.
2. Threat Detection & Incident Response
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats using advanced tools and techniques.
- Conduct forensic investigations and report security incidents to management.
3. Infrastructure & System Security
- Manage and secure IT assets, including firewalls, VPNs, proxies, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus systems.
- Perform regular security assessments, testing, and hardening of systems.
- Design and maintain robust security measures for cloud environments and emerging technologies.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Conduct risk assessments and implement remediation strategies to strengthen the bank’s security posture.
5. Awareness & Training
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs to enhance staff awareness.
- Foster a culture of security aligned with the bank’s cybersecurity objectives.
6. Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate security aspects of new technologies, vendors, and business partners.
- Prepare detailed reports on the bank’s security posture and present findings to management.
Key Competencies, Qualifications, and Experience
A: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, CEH) are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, Active Directory, and enterprise-level IT infrastructure management.
B: Required Experience
- At least 3 years of ICT security experience, preferably in the banking sector.
C: Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity tools, frameworks, and international security standards.
